Best things to do in Bangui

Central African Republic may be one of the least developed countries in the world but its natural beauty is what makes it worth visiting and attracts the tourists. The country’s capital Bangui is the largest city of the country. The city is located close to the Ubangi river and it is surrounded by hills which give the city a charm one cannot resist. Since Bangui is the capital of the country it is the administrative, commercial and trade center. One of the best things about the city is that you can get almost any type of food (French, Chinese, Italian, local food and many more) in the city. You can get to Bangui directly, by plane as the city has an airport named Bangui M’Poko International Airport. If you are in Bangui don’t forget to visit the Boganda National museum which contains a collection of traditional musical instruments, pottery, bark cloth and many other objects. Although Bangui is a beautiful city but the tourism in the city and country is ruined because of the extreme violence and it is highly advised to not travel to Bangui.

• Ubangui River

  If you are looking for a place in Bangui where you can relax and enjoy beautiful scenery then Ubangui river is a must visit place. This is a very peaceful place and you can easily get to Ubangui river by car. Another good thing about this place is that there are several good cafes near the Ubangui river. The sunset here is stunning. If you are not an excellent swimmer don’t try to swim in this river because this river has  strong currents.

  Notre-Dame of Bangui Cathedral is a historic building having beautiful architectural design. It is a large church and the building is perfectly preserved. The inside of the cathedral is even more beautiful. It is an interesting place to visit where you can see what the architecture was like in French colonies.
